Day 1:
Arrival in Goa. Check in at a hotel in Baga. Instead of getting bored at the hotel room, you can explore the Baga beach.
Day 2:
Travel to Morjim beach. Visit the Sea Turtle Conservation. This Sea Turtle Conservation provides you with the opportunity to get a view of the Olive Ridley Sea Turtle, the gull (sea birds), the terns (sea birds) as well as the wader birds from a close angle. After lunch, get ready to make a trip to the Saligao, a village in Goa. This place is primarily known for its two springs, which are the Mollebhat Spring and the Salmona Spring. Day 3:
Get ready in the morning to make a trip to the Mayem Lake and the Charao Island. The Mayem Lake makes for the ideal spot as far as bird watching is concerned. At the Mayem Lake, if you are fortunate enough, you might catch a glimpse of the Combo Duck, the Pheasant tailed Jacana, the Pygmy Goose, the egrets and the herons. Night stay at a hotel in Baga.
Day 4:
A visit to the Carambolim Lake, the Dona Paula and the marshlands of Santa Cruz (the largest village of Goa) for bird watching. At the Dona Paula plateau, you would get to see the Ashy -crowned Finch-Lark and the Yellow wattled Lapwing. Night stay at a hotel in Baga.
Day 5:
A visit to the Backwoods Camp, which is situated at the foothills of the Western Ghats. Birdwatching at the Backwoods Camp. You can see here, the Malabar Parakeet, the White bellied Blue Flycatcher and other birds as well. Night stay at this camp.
Day 6 and Day 7:
Explore the Bhagvan Mahabir Wildlife Sanctuary, situated here. You can spot here the Heart -spotted Woodpecker, Malabar Parakeet, Malabar Grey Hornbill, Indian Pitta, Malabar Trogon, Crimson - backed Sunbird, Malabar Whistling Thrush, Forest Wagtail and the Tickell’s Blue Flycatcher.
Day 8:
Travel to the Cotigao Wildlife Sanctuary from the Bhagvan Mahabir Wildlife Sanctuary. Night stay at the Molyma Hotel.
Day 9:
Birding at the Cotigao Wildlife Sanctuary. You can see here the Malabar Crested Eagle, the white eyed eagle and the Rufus Woodpecker. Lunch at the hotel Molyma. Travel back to Baga. Check in at a hotel in Baga in the evening. Night stay at the hotel.
Day 10:
Bird watching at Cabanna Hill and Fort Aguada (a Portuguese Fort). Canbanna Hill: White Throated Fantails, Bar – winged, Flycatcher Shrike, Indian Robin, Grey Bushchat and Small Minivets. Fort Aguada: Spotted Dove, Brahminy Kite, Peafowl, Cattle, White Bellied Sea Eagle, Asian Koel and Egret.
Day 11:
Activity for this day includes bird watching at the Bondla Wildlife Sanctuary. If bird watching is your most preferred activity, this is the place to be. This sanctuary is inhabited by the Golden Backed Woodpecker, The State Bird, which is also known as the Ruby Throated Yellow Bulbul and the Common Grey Hornbill.
Day 12:
A cruise ride to spot birds: Little Ringed Plovers, White Cheeked Barbet, Common Sandpipers, Blyth’s, Asian Palm Swift, Pipits, Pied Bushcat and Richards.
Day 13:
Spend your morning hours by getting yourself involved with the activity of birding at the Baga Hills. Spot at this place, the Spotted Owlet, White Throated Kingfisher, Common Sandpipers, Oriental Skylark, Little Ringed Plovers, Asian Palm Swift and the Pied Bushcat. In the evening, be prepared to travel to the marshlands of Candolim (a town in Goa). At this place, you would get to see the kingfisher. Enjoy your time at Candolim. Night stay at a hotel.
Day 14:
Take a flight back from Goa for your onward journey. |
