Day 01: Mumbai - Cochin
You arrive at Mumbai late in the night. Mumbai is the largest metropolis in India and is one of the world’s top 10 centers of commerce in terms of the financial flow globally. You are transferred to the domestic airport to board a flight for Cochin at 5.45 am. It is a beautiful city that is often referred to as the gateway to Kerala. On arrival at 7.30 am, you are assisted at the airport for transfer to the hotel.
Rest of the day is free for relaxation. In the evening, you can enjoy a Kathakali dance performance. It is an ancient classical dance of Kerala that originated in the 17th century. The most important aspect of this dance is the attractive make up that the dancer’s wear. Retire for overnight stay at Cochin hotel.
Day 02: Cochin
In the morning, there is a guided city tour of Cochin. It is the evergreen and beautiful harbour city of Kerala, famed for its historical past and spice trade. Kerala is also known as God’s own country. The state is located in the southern part of India. Afternoon is free and the overnight stay is in the hotel.
Day 03: Cochin – Munnar
In the morning, drive to Munnar which is known for its lush tea plantations. On arrival at Munnar, check in at the hotel. Enjoy a boat ride in the afternoon. Overnight stay is at Munnar. It is a gem of a hill-station.
Day 04: Munnar
Fourth day is completely free and can be used to relax, to visit tea plantations, markets etc. Overnight stay is in Munnar.
Day 05: Munnar – Periyar
Early in the morning drive to Periyar, which is one of the 27 tiger reserves in India,. Enjoy a boat ride in the beautiful Lake Periyar and see the rare and exotic wildlife. Later on, visit the spice market at Kumily to see and buy the aromatic and medicinal spices. Overnight stay is at Periyar.
Day 06: Periyar – Kottayam
Early morning, drive to Kottayam. It is the first town in India that has acquired 100% literacy. The paddy fields too stand as a beauty spot for this town. On arrival, switch over to a House Boat and enjoy an exciting cruise along the tranquil backwaters. On the way, pass through the rice fields, markets, villages etc. Overnight is spent in the House Boat.
Day 07: Alleppey - Kovalam
In the morning, drive to Kovalam. The beach here is known as the Paradise of the South. Check in at the beach resort upon arrival. Rest of the day is free for relaxation or indulging in Ayurvedic massages. Overnight stay is in Kovalam.
Day 08: Kovalam
The eighth day is totally free and can be spent relaxing on the beach. Overnight stay is at Kovalam.
Day 09: Kovalam - Trivandrum - Mumbai – Departure
You are assisted and transferred to Trivandrum Airport to take a Mumbai bound flight at 1.35 pm. On arrival in Mumbai at 3.35 pm, you are assisted at the airport and transferred to the city hotel for refreshing yourself. Rest of the day is free and can be used for last minute shopping and packing. |
