The airports in Rajasthan have daily flights scheduled by both the state and private airlines like Indian Airlines , Jet Airways, Kingfisher Airlines, Air Deccan and Go Air . These Airlines operate their flights to and fro from New Delhi, Mumbai, Aurangabad , Jodhpur to various cities of Rajasthan like Jaipur, Jodhpur and Udaipur. The airports are mostly in proximity to the city centers thus rendering easy transit.
The six airports of Rajasthan are : Jaipur - Sanganer Airport, Udaipur- Maharana Airport ,Jodhpur - Jodhpur Airport, Jaisalmer -Jaisalmer Airport, Kota- Kota Airport, Bikaner- Nal Bikaner Airport .. Sanganer Airport in Jaipur is the only International airport in Rajasthan. At present the terminal building can accommodate 500 passengers but expansion plans are underway to accommodate 1,000 passengers. The runway will also be extended from the present 9,000 feet to 12,000 feet. The airport has flights operating to Udaipur , Jodhpur, Delhi, Mumbai and Aurangabad.. The Jaipur airport is approximately 10 kms from the city center.
The city of Bikaner has a domestic airport, Nal Airport which is 9 kms from the city. The Kota airport in Kota has flights to Jodhpur, Jaipur and Udaipur. It lies at a distance of 10 km from the city. The Jaisalmer airport is open only during the peak season, from 1st October to 31st March. The Maharana Pratap airport is located at about 22kms south of Udaipur. The city of Jodhpur also has airport with regular flights to Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur and Udaipur. The Jodhpur airport lies at a distance of 5 km from the city center.
